AMAME

Identity & Branding, Logo, Styling

Amame is a conceptual Latinx club and bar that caters towards the Latinx LGBTQA community. Amame was created in reaction to the tragic Pulse Night Club shooting back in June 2016. I wanted to make my own gay night club that was specifically for the Latinx community as a way of coping and making something meaningful from a horrible situation.

WHY AMAME?

Amame means love me in Spanish. It is also a song by iconic Mexican-American singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez. As many know, during the peak of her career Selena tragically passed away from a gun shot at the young age of 23. Her music has forever been admired by the Latinx community and I felt that the parallel between the two events held some significance, which is why I chose the name Amame.

GRAPHIC SYSTEM

The visual inspiration for Amame came from both Latin and gay culture. The logo made up of two wings that form a heart to symbolize the feeling of freedom and also loving ones self.
